Adding new NIC
-
I have a fairly new pfSense setup. Just got everything working…
Decided to add another NIC at the last minute but it's not detected as an interface by pfsense. Can't add it via the webmenus. Is there more to installing a new NIC after running the installation?
((Also, should there be any problems bridging two seperate interfaces to my LAN?))
Thanks,
Toast -
Perhaps your new NIC is not recognised by any of the built-in drivers. Please post the output of the shell command
dmesg -
I believe this is the NIC showing up bellow. It's a D-Link DWL-G520

You might get further by using a pfSense built on a more modern FreeBSD. Try one of the recent 1.2.3 snapshot builds which can be downloaded from http://snapshots.pfsense.org/FreeBSD_RELENG_7_2/pfSense_RELENG_1_2/updates/
