I read somewhere that the embedded version of pfS uses a serial port for console communications (rather than vga & keyboard).  Is this still true as of ver. 1.2.3?  Is there a simple tweak that will direct console I/O to video/keyboard instead?

More broadly, I want to run pfS from a usb flash drive using commodity, consumer pc hardware.  Should I want to use the livecd as my starting point or would the embedded version be better?  (Packages are not a consideration, as I'm not using any add-ons.  For now.)

    TIA,
    eric
