No webgui (wan?)

I'm using an averatec 3700 series laptop for this box. Its an AMD sempron 3000+

I'm trying to use a WRT160N Linksys router for the LAN, and i have my isps modem for the wan. Also using a USB ethernet adapter.

Everything seems to setup fine, it auto finds the LAN and wan when I link up. But I can't seem to get the webgui for the life of me. Every time I try to connect 192.168.1.1, it just goes to the routers setup, and not pfsense. The WAN says 0.0.0.0 (DHCP) This doesn't seem correct.

I'm using all cat5 patch cables.

this sounds stupid, but I'm stumped. should I just be using a regular switch?

You need to connect to the LAN side of the pfSense.
Not the WAN side.
Also you have an IP assigning confilict.
You cannot have 192.168.1.0/24 between the pfSense and the linksys AND behind the pfSense.

You seem to have an IP conflict.
Your Linksys router AND your pfSense both have the IP 192.168.1.1 - which doesn't work.
Using a switch seems to be the easiest to solve this. Don't connect the router at all.

Okay, seems to be a simple solution. What I figured, thank you.

I'm going to be needing wireless however. But i'll cross that bridge when I get there. I think it's just a matter of adding a new interface and plugging in the router, I'll research more.
