HELP:how do I configure pfsense to meet another network inside a wireless router
-
Hi Everyone! I'm new at configuring the pfSense box and I have a question. ???
I was able to bridge a Linksys WRT54G wireless router with the pfsense box. Now the network inside the WRT54G has been given an internet connection.
Now, how do I configure the pfsense box to let the network inside the Linksys wireless router to meet with the network inside the pfsense box?
Basically, I wanted the 192.168.10.XXX network to meet with the 192.168.7.XXX network.
How do I do this with pfsense?
I made a rough network diagram for you to be able to picture my current setup.
Thanks in advance for those who give me a hand. ;)

Is the Linksys doing DHCP or DCHP is done by the Pfsense box? The latter is more ideal.
If DCHP by PFsense box you'll need to add firewall rule to OPT1 (or whatever interface connected to your Linksys) to pass traffic to LAN on PFsense.
Rule can be open like this on OPT1

- OPT1net * LANnet *

the Linksys is the one doing DHCP inside it's network (192.168.7.XXX) and it is connected to the pfsense box via the OPT1 interface configured to Bridge mode to WAN.
I tried adding the rules you suggested to OPT1 to pass traffic to LAN on pfSense but it my goal won't still work. I couldn't get 192.168.10.XXX meet 192.168.7.XXX and vice versa.
I attached my LAN and OPT1 firewall rules for you to see if I got it correctly. Thanks again!

I may be wrong, but why are you using a swtich as both input to WAN for PFsense and output to LAN simultaneously? Wouldn't it be better to route WAN directly to PFsense then route back to LAN to the switch?
This make it more cleaner and you'll only have to deal with interfaces LAN and OPT1.
Oh well, at least my reply will kickstart your thread back and some expert can furthur assist you.
