2.0 How ready is ready ?

Hello,

Pfsense absolutely rocks. One of the best open source solutions on the planet ! A huge thankyou to it's makers and the crew that keeps it going.

My network really needs a multi WAN/LAN traffic shaping solution which from the description PFsense 2.0 would fit perfectly. If I only need to do some basic firewall rules and traffic shaping over multiple interfaces does anyone think that the Alpha release would be stable enough for that ? Yes yes yes I know the word ALPHA release and stable in the same sentence is a Oxymoron like army intelligence but I am getting desperate and I really want to stick with pfsense.
As of 29/9/09 does anyone think the current release might be ok for this ?

I am also curious to know. I need to set up a new site from scratch. Playing with multi-wan on 1.2.3 has been a mixed bag for me.

I need to set up a generic site like so:

WAN1 WAN2 WAN3
\ / /
Pfsense
/
NAT LAN DMZ (w/public IP space)

WAN1 = T1 to ISP
WAN2 = DSL to another ISP
WAN3 = cablemodem to 3rd ISP

The idea would be to combine the 3 links for outbound surfing from the office and have the firewall automagically "notice" when a link goes down and reroute packets to the remaining WAN link(s). Is version 2 ready for something like this? Are stickybits working with multiwan yet?

The releas based on 7.2 seems to be better than 8.0. I don't have Multi-WAN, so no infos about it. But for real production: A clear NO. I use it for my home and only with the 7.2 based 2.0 its possible to do mostly without big problems. 8.0 doesn't connect to WAN. 7.2 only connects manual. No automatic connect. Sorry.
