Opinions on this Atom 330 + 4 gbit nics embedded system?

Saw this on Fleabay:

Looking for an inexpensive solution for a mostly "lights out" location. 4 nics come in handy since the site is planned to have 3 WAN links.
If anyone has used this Jetway board and the 3 x gbit daughtercard I'd love to hear about your experiences.
Best,

Looks fine :)

I have one of these at my home and one in my office and they work great. The seller is good to work with and will ship via Fedex if you request it. I put a 32GB SSD drive in it and installed PFSense 1.2.3RC3 no problem.

What kind of thruput performance can you get with one of these units?

At what packetsize???

64k, 128k, 512k, and 1500k

I've used that board in the past but I've replaced just about all of them with better kit. I had three out of the initial four fail within 6 months (five total boxes, one kept as a spare). One had a NIC that SEEMED ok but corrupted every packet that passed through it, one had a PicoPSU that failed and fried a NIC, and a third released the magical blue smoke from the southbridge just the other day.
Anyway, iperf puts TCP throughput at around 240-250Mbit/s but I never got anything near that in real-world testing. Two boxes with a cross-over between them brought about 50Mbit/s using FTP and I could only get around 10Mbit/s using IPSec.

Ouch. BTW, are you the same guy that hosts the utter ramblings yum repository?

Yes, that's me. ;D

What hardware did you use to replace your Jetway? How long have the replacements been up and running?

I replaced the JetWay boxes with the FW-7872 from Lanner (packing a Celeron M 440 & 4GB of RAM). The systems have been running since July with no issues. They've been rebooted a few times each for pfSense updates but otherwise have run solid.
