I get this on starting ipsec:

php: /vpn_ipsec.php: The command '/usr/local/sbin/racoonctl -s /var/run/racoon.sock reload-config' returned exit code '1', the output was 'send: Bad file descriptor'

What does this mean? File bad due to filesystem error or is the IPSEC dead?

Wow! Is it only me with this problem or noone using IPSEC? I can't imagine… Would be good to know if I have to search by myself or still wait.

A few people went around a week or two ago and had IPsec working for sure. Not sure why it's failing for you. Personally, I haven't tried it on either of my 2.0 test boxes since I had it working a couple weeks ago.

Tried to look for the ipsec-tools in Freebsd, but not in the package-list of 8.0RC3. :(
Then tried to extract the corresponding file from several upgrade-packages, even older ones, none of them worked. So it seems not to be a filesystem-error. I think, the package/program is broken, but will look today with actual snapshot and tell more.

Some work remains to be done to make sure we have a proper match between ipsec-tools version and FreeBSD 8. It may or may not work at this point, I know some do have it working though.

I know it was working before, don't know if it was RC2 or older version of FreeBSD. Now its broken and I'll wait.
Good things will need time! And pfSense is a very good thing! Congrats to all programmers out there
