Not really sure. I have problems and noone seems to be able to explain why it doesn't work. I got CP to work briefly both with and without transparent squid and then it died completely after I installed-and-removed imspector(?).

There seem to be some kind of problem when several packages are listening and redirecting at the same time, which feels like logical.

I don't think that explains why my config doesn't work now though, since I have removed squid etc, but perhaps old stuff can cause problems somehow.

I like squid a lot but it feels like it should be run on a seperate machine to fully work.

A few resent threads involving this that you may want to read:

I had seen this before, maybe 2.0 will have a better squid performance, but this the time let us know.

            Thanks my friends again!!!

Just a note, I have squid 2.7.7 running nicely again, it's just CP that doesn't work and now it doesn't matter whether or not squid is active on the same interface or not, CP is dead any way :(
Apart from now and then stopped logging after reboot (earlier versions) I haven't really had any hard issues with squid itself.

              Cheers,

Hu?  I use squid, squidGuard and CaptivePortal on 1.2.3-RELEASE.  They all work fine for me.

                        Periko,

I´m running squid (transparent) w/ squidGuard and CP w/ Radius too, everything works fine.

This happened w/ I was using 1.2.2 Version.. but when I upgrade to 1.2.3-RELEASE works fine.

But.. I use CP + RADIUS w/ proxy transparent, following this tutorial -> http://files.pfsense.org/tutorials/cp_config/radius_win2k3.htm
