      Hello All,

I get the error in the subject line when trying to look at available packages. I can ping any domain name from the ping applet in pfsense( other than pfsense org) as I would assume it is icmp blocked. Not a big deal but Id like to try Squid and a few other possibles.
Thanks for the functional firewall out of the box, pfsense has some sweet features other firewalls do not!!

Edit: Sorry forgot to mention this was an iso install downloaded 12/12 with the same date.
      cr,
I get the same error you do when trying the url via Firefox.

      Take Care,
      Barry

I'm running a fresh install of pfSense 2.0-alpha-alpha built on Sat Dec 12 11:34:31 EST 2009.

When I click on the tab to install packages I get the following error:
Unable to communicate to www.pfsense.org. Please check DNS, default gateway, etc.

Also, if I use firefox to view http://www.pfsense.com/pfSense/xmlrpc.php I get the following error:
faultCode  103    faultString  XML error: no element found at line 1

The system log reports the following:
php: /pkg_mgr.php: XMLRPC request failed with error 2: Invalid return payload: enable debugging to examine incoming payload.

As you should, you can't just browse there.

I'm running pfSense-Full-Update-2.0-ALPHA-20091213-1418.tgz and packages work fine. There were some changes recently, it's possible if you have something older than that it won't work. Of course also make sure you have Internet connectivity from the firewall itself.
