Resizing imagee
-
Hi,
I have just got pfsense and love it. i've installed some packages and love it.I have searched the forums and wiki but all i can find is posts that say they will not work in new versions.
I have a 4gb CF but only showing limited space
Filesystem Size Used Avail Capacity Mounted on
/dev/ufs/pfsense0 443M 255M 152M 63% /
devfs 1.0K 1.0K 0B 100% /dev
/dev/md0 3.6M 38K 3.3M 1% /var/run
/dev/ufs/cf 49M 1.8M 44M 4% /cf
devfs 1.0K 1.0K 0B 100% /var/dhcpd/devIs there any safe way to resize the image to 2-4gb without damaging the install.
The device i have is http://linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=12647
Any help would be great.
Thanks

You cannot resize a 1.2.3-RELEASE nanobsd image, that's why they come in different sizes pre-made.
It looks like you only used a 1GB image when that CF was written. There is a 4GB image that will give you 2GB usable on the / partition. The other 2GB (minus a little) is for the secondary OS slice for upgrades.

thanks jimp
Whats the easyest way to install the 2g image on an embeded device with only a serial port?
I dont want to mess it up just becuase i want more log space :)

You need to pull the CF or storage media and image it on another system.
Also, the CF is kept read-only so that it isn't worn out by constant writes. Logs are kept on a RAM disk (both /var and /tmp are kept in memory).
