    Is it possible to save in/out packet data?

      if u see under interfaces, u can see the WAN, LAN and OPT1 interfaces with details for each, is it some how possible to be able to save the WAN in/out packet counter details such that it can last even a reboot on the alix so as to be able to monitor the monthly data transfer on the WAN interface for accounting purpose.

        That is what the RRD graphs do. Status > RRD Graphs

        The "period" value on the monthly traffic graph would be your monthly total.

          but isnt that data lost on every reboot on nanobsd?

            No, it is saved at shutdown and restored at bootup. It is only lost if you lose power or pull the plug without doing a proper shutdown.

              Well, but it is not saved periodically. If your pfSense runs for a month and is then suddenly unplugged (not shutdown/no reboot) then you loose all of this. You need to have a cronjob that saves your rrd graphs periodically, at least you needed this with 1.2.3โ€ฆ
