I have to assign (WAN/LAN) interfaces after every pfSense reboot
-
After every reboot of pfSense, I'm forced to assign interfaces (WAN and LAN) or I get no internet connectivity. Why? I'm thinking this might be related to the inability to access my pfSense webGUI, a problem I posted about in another forum thread. I'm currently running 1.2.3 RC1.

are u running pfsense from a livecd ?
maybe u need to install it on a hard drive or pendrive to save the config ;) -

can you shell into it or access it via local console?
also try to upgrade to 1.2.3-Release if you can or try to boot it with acpi disabled (assuming you can do one of the above)
maybe the nics are bad or going(or a BIOS problem), as you probably know anytime pf detects a new nic, it prompts. -
Any other suggestions? This is driving me crazy!

Upgrade or do a fresh install of 1.2.3 release (and if you're having problems a fresh install is the better option).

I ran 1.2.3 RC1 for months and it suddenly stopped working properly and I don't know why. Nonetheless, I did a fresh install as you suggested and it seems to have fixed the problem. It's good to have pfSense running as it should. Thanks…

You probably have a hardware problem, possibly faulty memory.
