Double bandwith?

Increasing bandwith from 10Mb to +- 15Mb is offcourse also good.
edit: It's not possible with pfsense.

I have 2 PPPoe connections from my ISP, each around 1MB/s (2MB/s in total when using different routers), Can I double those (so I have about 2MB/s) using multi-wan?
I tried 2.0 with 2 PPPoe connections and 1.2.3 with 2 gateway static IP's.
what's the best way to do this? (vlan on my alix?)
The book explained a lot to me, but not everything.
An Alix.2D3 would work on your two connection to almost double your connection speed when opening up many connections, using round-robin seems ok. On my setup I use a weighed round robin cuz they are not the same speed which seems to work ok as well.. Single http connection will be your 1MB(b?)/s however. Use a d/l manager and perform segmented d/l and you would see double the speed.

It just doesn't work when downloading with an d/L manager (btw I did set firewall rules and have 2static ip's) :(

If it doesn't work for you with a download manager which actually creates multiple connections, then you have missconfigured something.
Are your two WAN IPs in the same subnet and use the same gateway?

there in the same subnet, but they use different gateways (static ip's refer to pppoe connections; I need to create at least 2 pppoe sessions)

Am I doing something wrong here? (I have 2 PPPoe connections for 1 VDSL2 line)

put another gateway behind one of the connections… This seems to be the only workaround I know of if they are on the same subnet... perhaps the experts/developers have another way... maybe a software NAT plugin?? Routers are so cheap nowdays, just use one of those integrated all in one dsl modem/router combo unit and assign one of them w/ a different subnet on a private ip.

I tried another gateway with different/same subnet. I think I'm doing something else wrong (when I create a pool, should I also make rules for that pool when I allow everything (* * * * *)?.
If I create rules:"allow all" (to test only) it still doesn't work, maybe I need to add NAT too? -
Just follow the pfSense Multi-WAN docs… I saved it locally, but you can google for it. I followed it and work the first time. You can check the RRD graphs and see if yoour really getting the bandwidth. I tested my setup originally using uTorrent on two well seeded linux iso's... They saturated my WANs.

PPPOE sessions with 2.0 bring nothing really when they on the same Gateway. So you will still have to use hardware or virtual routers.
If you want to use PPPOE sessions on the same gateway. You should get ClearOS. They support this.
With PFsense any version, you will still need to run minimum of 2 hardware routers or 2 virtual ones on the server computer or behind it.
