Hey all, I know how the intel hardware is the NIC of choice for the PFSense software but as they can be expensive some don't use them.  I was in the same boat but found a cheap NEW card on ebay from a seller that sends them from Hong Kong to the US for very cheap.  Here's the link below. It took me about 2-3 weeks for mine to be delivered and works great. Thought I would share what i've found.  The same card costs about 200+ dollars here. In his store 30 bucks delivered.

Ditto, had good luck with these cards from ebay.  Lots of different vendors selling them.

Anyone tried these cards on an Atom board?
Thinking of a new build and going with this card.  Since it's a long 64 bit card, if there are obstructions behind the pci slot on the motherboard I can see it not working.  I'm thinking of an intel board or the asus board, both are 330cpu's and 945 chipset.

Do you have to install drivers or anything for this or is it just plug and play and it works?

plug and play.  just works.  Only part is that it does not fit all boards, as it's 64bit card which is longer.  I used them on regular pci slots and they work as long as there is not an obstruction behind the pci slot.
