HD full????
-
I have been running pfSense for a couple of months now. Everything has been working fine, and still is, but I recently noticed by HD is 100%. The HD is 40gb. I was running squid, although I removed the pkg, and IMspector, which has also been removed. Can anyone explain why my HD is now full?
Thanks

Guess: Removing squid removed no more than the files the squid install put on your HD, leaving all the files in the squid cache.
I run pfSense from a 1GB solid state drive with about 260MB for swap (not that it ever seems to swap) so you don't need a lot of HD space.

Ok, that makes sense. In a haste to clear free the HD I removed the squid pkg. Is there a way to remove this data, as I assume any command such as squid -k rotate is not going to function properly.

rm /var/squid/cache/*
Will remove the files which are probably filling up your hdd
rm -rf /var/squid/cache
Will clear out the rest of the cache files too.

Thanks once again, Jim. I used those two cmds and that did the trick. So I guess I will set a cron job to do rotate the logs everyday or so. Thanks again.
