I'd buy the book but since there are so many and probably continue to be many differences between the two builds, it would probably be illogical to order it since i'm focusing on PFSense 2.0…sorry, i'm a beta nut. Actually, since it's "feature" complete, i'm sure a second edition could be drafted up.

I assure you, it can't. Trust me. I'd be writing it now if it were possible.  ;D

I actually got my book today(*) and I'm very pleased! Nice, thick and heavy and well written, superb job, I'm really impressed.

When one has the book in front it's pretty obvious that is it indeed the first source to look in for answers and it's also very obvious why you refer to the book sometimes online etc and you probably should do so even more - it contains so much more info than can ever be reasonably written in a forum response etc.

Since it only cost like a few lunches at mcD anyone making serious use of pfS should buy it, out of pure principle, to give something back and thereby support the project. Very nice to have as a reference too, sometimes it's just not handy to go online to double check some detail.

          Cheers,

(*) Even though I was thrilled by the book itself I'm a bit less impressed by Amazon's delivery. It was shipped Jan 13 and I got it today Jan 26. In comparison I ordered a few watches from Russia last year and they arrived here in 3 business days, standard delivery. Well well…

I don't know from where the book was send to you, but if I order something from the UK/USA it can take up to a month before it arrives while stuff from Asia can get here within 4 business days…
(I live in the Netherlands, you in Stockholm (Sweden) according to you're profile?)

              Yes that's correct indeed.

                Okay :)

Anyway, I ordered it yesterday, from thebookdepository on Amazon. It's lokated in the UK so it will probably be here just before March I think.

Uhm, but Fedex is 5 to 10 times more expensive, so they better ship fast.
But the month from the UK with standard mail is extremely long, even for the low price.
If I use the standard mail in this country, I can get a letter or package delivered at the other side of the country on the next day (when send before 5PM) or at least within 48 hours, the UK isn't so much bigger than this country so what's up with the month shipment time?

Hmm, right now I'm being very (understatement) surprised…

Book shipped on January 30, arrived just now.

I have never seen the British mail work this fast.
