    Hello,
it's possible to change and HDD with pfsense running to another server machine?
The new server works after installing just the HDD, or do I need to do a fresh instalation?
    thanks in advance

It depends on the HW change.  In general, unless the enet adapters have exactly the same driver, you are going to have to go to the console and re-assign interfaces, but apart from that, it should likely just work (although there are unusual situations where it might not.)

that should just work then, i think.  although there is a chance the ordering of the nics might be different, only one way to find out (and even if that does happen, it's a minor change you make once.)

i do it all the time, you have to do this on systems where you cant get pf to install.

Why not use a free ESXi from VmWare to do all this??? Very easy to manage and configure….
