      Hi Folks,

My business has been using pfsense for a couple of years now and love it. I feel fairly confident administering the boxes and all the rules.

We are rolling out pfSense on a couple of our customers' sites, and while these systems are working well, all of our knowledge is self taught.

Can anyone point me to the best place just to make sure that what I'm doing is "best practise". Would the pfSense book be good?

pfSense seems simple to me, but am I missing something?

      Thanks

I'm not sure of training but the pfSense book is a wonderful resource. I have found some things in there that I have not found in the wiki and also it takes more time to explain certain circumstances.

If you're worried about running into a problem you can't solve yourself, you could always purchase support.

I couldn't agree with this more.  The book is an incredible resource.

              Hi,

haven't posted before, but wanted to jump in because of the book.

I have 3 words for ya.. I.. LOVE.. THIS.. BOOK :D

actually there were 4 words, but Steve Ballmer  did the same mistake :D

The book is packed full of GREAT explanations. Even if you're new to networking, it's a great source.
Besides more advanced topics, even basics are explained in great detail and you did such an amazing job explaining the fundamentals in a way it's so easy to understand. You really did an amazing job! Thank you!
This book is not just for pfsense only, it's a great resource for network administrators in general.

It would be great to know/be notified when this book updated for v2 is/will be available. I'll definitely buy it too.
              Just my 2 cents

Before we can do too much the GUI options have to be finalized for v2. Things are still changing quite a bit so it's difficult to write instructions yet.

There are a couple chapters which are just about done, but it's a small percentage of the book overall.
