Cant find 2.0 beta EMBEDDED?
-
The mirrors dont have anything under embedded for 2.0. Is there a place to download it from?
-
The former embedded image have been replaced by nanobsd based images in http://snapshots.pfsense.org/FreeBSD_RELENG_8_1/i386/pfSense_HEAD/nanobsd/, e.g. http://snapshots.pfsense.org/FreeBSD_RELENG_8_1/i386/pfSense_HEAD/nanobsd/pfSense-2.0-BETA1-1g-20100309-0142-nanobsd.img.gz
You should look through the forum/wiki for installation procedures.

is this install any different than doing the 1.2.3 on a CF card? Can I upgrade or do i need to do a clean install?
-
I'm confident I've seen articles in the forums and or wiki which would answer your questions. Since don't use the embedded version and have no plans to use it I haven't taken a lot of notice of the details.
I suggest you do an advanced search on the forums for nanobsd. Repeat for the documentation wiki.

If you already have the 1.2.3 release (and not release candidate), you should be able to do an upgrade from that to 2.0. You should backup your 1.2.3 configuration before doing so, in case you want to switch back.

There are some reported problems with the upgrade process from 1.2.3-nanobsd to 2.0. It would not be a good idea to do this upgrade right now. Flashing a separate CF card with a fresh 2.0 image and configuring it is the safest way to go for the time being.

I can confirm this upgrade does NOT work when going from 1.2.3 to 2.0 on the nanobsd architecture. Importing the config worked reasonably well, though.

Hmm, works fine for me. I do it every time I upgrade to a new 2.0 snapshot, because upgrading from one 2.0 build to another hasn't worked yet on my system. This is on an Alix 2c3 with a 512MB CF card.
