    Hi,

I would like to know if pfSense works on following mobo

VIA EPIA PD10000 Dual LAN Mainboard or the VIA EPIA EK 8000EG

    http://mini-itx.com/store/?c=2#p1647

    Any clues?

    Thanx,

    Gabriel

I think that board should work just fine. I have similiar mini-itx boards  that are C3 Nehemia 1 GHz based. You should check the nics though if they are supported. My board has dual Via Rhine onboard. I can push nearly 100 mbit/s wirespeed with these boards running netio in factorydefault config wan to lan.

Are you sure 2 nics is enough (also for future needs)? The board you posted has lot's of things that you don'T need for a router (like a soundcard, lots of controllers,…). Did you have a look at our recommended vendors page ( http://pfsense.com/index.php?id=40 )? There are some nice appliances there. I have used the linitx system already 2 times as producational systems. They work great.

The linitx has 1x gigabit/s nic and 5x 100 mbit/s and a 1 GHz cpu. I suggest following the links at the recommended vendors page as I won't "read" the specs for you here.  ;D

thanx… the linitx seems really competent.

Nice to see people like the FX5620.

Just a quick note to let you know about the Jetway boards we now have as well:
                  http://linitx.com/index.php?cPath=12_138

We have just got the new J7F4 with Dual GigLan on board.

Also the J7F2 with a 10/100 NIC on board, and optional modules to add-on up to 3 10/100 or Gig NICs.

                  TTFN

                  Nick.
