Multi wan, load balance related question

currently im on the alix using nanobsd and wan is a pppoe connection, now the problem is once im connected to the internet, the gateway ip is actually not pingable so apinger in pfsense keeps giving the warning and under gateway i see the below screenshot so now if i were to implement multi wan using 2 connections from the same isp then apinger would see all the gateway ips as offline no matter if they were working so wanted to ask before implementing multi wan and laod balancing, will it work?
