1.2.3 embedded + HTC Desire = no wifi

Using 1.2.3 embedded with an atheros card. WAN, LAN, WIfi on different subnet with LAN as gateway.
HTC Desire (an Android phone) is able connect and receive an IP, but actually using it does not work. Might be related to:

It sounds as if your WiFi is on OPT1. Do you have firewall rules allowing OPT1 to access anything (default is to block access)?
If you have suitable firewall rules in place it would be helpful if you gave more detail than "does not work", for example, complete the sentence " I did … and I saw ..."

The rules I have on lan is allow everything on LAN to *
The rules I have on wlan is allow everything on wlan to *It's hard giving a better description than "it doesn't work" when it's a phone, as the only thing I see is that the phone connects properly, gets an IP-address but trying to use the internet only has it idling for a while then failing.
The same pfsense-setup works for a laptop, so I don't think it's the pfsense settings that are wrong.

I don't have an internet capable phone let alone a HTC Desire so I have no idea whether "trying to use the internet" means you are trying to make a VOIP call, look at a web page, send a SMS, send an email, read an email etc or something else entirely.
Perhaps you could take a trace on your WLAN interface while your phone is "trying to use the internet". One way to do it would be to ssh into your pfSense box and give the shell command
tcpdump -i ath0 -c 30 > trace.txt
which will log 30 packets from interface ath0 into the file trace.txt and then post the file trace.txt here. You may have to "try to use the internet" a few times to get the 30 packet count.

Yes, surfing the web, trying to log into Spotify, etc. All tcp/ip or udp/ip activities.
I'll see if I can get a trace later today, it's my neighbor's issue.
