      Hi There,

I just added a bunch of CARP VIPs to my pfsense setup, however some of the IPs and carpIDs are not showing in pfSense, please see the screenshot to see what I mean.

This has happened in the past, but usually disabling and enabling CARP fixes the problem, but I have rebooted the server and it is still like this. On the backup side it is showing the same thing.

      Has anyone else encountered this?

      Thanks,

Is this on pfSense 1.2.3? I seem to recall that being fixed at some point.

The output of ifconfig -a would be helpful.

          Hi Jimp,

Thanks for the reply, we are actually still running 1.2.2, the output from ifconfig -a is as follows:

          …..
          .
          .
          .
          carp27: flags=49 <up,loopback,running>metric 0 mtu 1500
                  inet xx.xx.xx.xx netmask 0xffffffc0
carp: MASTER vhid 29 advbase 1 advskew 0
          carp28: flags=9 <up,loopback>metric 0 mtu 1500
          carp29: flags=49 <up,loopback,running>metric 0 mtu 1500
                  inet xx.xx.xx.xx netmask 0xffffffc0
carp: MASTER vhid 31 advbase 1 advskew 0
          .
          .
          .
          carp41: flags=49 <up,loopback,running>metric 0 mtu 1500
                  inet xx.xx.xx.xx netmask 0xffffffc0
carp: MASTER vhid 43 advbase 1 advskew 0

          Any advise?

          Many Thanks,</up,loopback,running></up,loopback,running></up,loopback></up,loopback,running>

I'm fairly certain that was fixed in 1.2.3. Update to 1.2.3 and that should fix it, there is really no other advice if you're on an older version, otherwise we're chasing ghosts.

              Hi Jimp,

Thanks for the advice, I will schedule a window for next week, in the mean time I will try removing the affected addresses and re adding them.

              Have a good day,
