Enable Serial Console on COM2?
-
Is it possible to enable the serial console on COM2 instead of COM1? …or change how pfsense assigns COM1 and COM2?
My situation, if you want more info, is on the SGS 5420 there is an LCD wired into COM1 header, COM2 port is soldered into the board so I can't change the wiring of the lcd to COM2. No VGA output so I need a serial console. Thanks!

Not easily. You might be able to do some of it by editing /etc/ttys but I don't think that will get you the console messages, might just get you a login prompt.

I was able to switch the com port settings in the bios, but bsd still connects cuad0 to the lcd and cuad1 to the port.

Does anyone know why when booting with ACPI disabled it switches com ports…see below
ACPI Enabled
LCD = /dev/cuad0
Port = /dev/cuad1
ACPI Disabled
Port = /dev/cuad0
LCD = /dev/cuad1
