Stuck at BTX Loader

Hello,
I'm using a Nexcom NSB1083 Board, pretty standard Intel System with CF Socket and 4x NIC.
I've dd'd a current 1.2.3 Image onto a CF. (did that before several times successfully)Booting shows "BTX Loader 1.x…." after quite some time, nothing else happens.
Querying this forum, I found several suggestions to play with BIOS (HDD and ACPI) settings --
-- did that, yields no result, still stuck at BTX Loder.Also, I am unable to boot from CDROM with the same error.
Can anyone help me to boot my system or diagnose the issue?

Those NanoBSD images currently only use a serial console and do not have VGA support.

Probably it would be nice to document that on the Download and Versions pages.
