Wan failover with ppp/modem how?!? [corrected topic]
-
I have been trying to figure out how to get this setup.. But either the support is not there, or I need to be beat with a clue stick (most likely the latter)
I am experimenting with trying to get this setup so that if my primary internet connection goes down, it fires up a dialup modem.
It appears I need to add a interface ppp?!?! to the group to do this, but the interface doesn't show up? (because the connection is down?)
Is this currently supported/still in process? or can someone clue me in?
using the latest snapshot (30th I believe) that was available at the time of this post.

PPTP wouldn't have anything to do with a dialup modem. That's just plain "PPP".

Doh, that was a repeated typo on my part, I knew better then that.
Question still remains with Wan/PPP dialup though. I am guessing either
a) not supported (yet)
b) I am missing something simple. -
I thought when it was redesigned a week or two ago, a ppp interface acted like any other one. You just add it to a gateway group at a higher tier number than your normal WAN.

not that I saw. I had to give up playing for a bit, but I am helping a friend tonight with the latest snap shot to test compat with a new router he was planning on installing *-wrt on. I will attempt to confirm, but when I looked, that wasn't there.
