Brand new Netgate with pfsense on it.
I have configured LAN & WAN, port forwarding, static routes, etc. Everything works fine. System is still functioning.
I was configuring squidGuard & having a hard time getting anything to stay in the config.
The interface changed to a basic web page with a menu down the left side instead of the drop down menus & there is no configuration info there.
Presumably I've managed to block something. Is there a way to get my config info back short of starting over?
      TIA

        What version of pfSense?

I presume you mean you are having trouble getting anything to stay in the squidguard configuration rather
        than the pfSense configuration.

I don't know what version. The unit has lost it's entire config not just the squidGuard one. I rebooted it & now have no access at all. I can't find any info yet on how to reset to factory when you can't access the web interface.

There is a console option to reset the configuration to factory defaults.

If you are talking about an ALIX unit from Netgate, this means hooking a null modem serial cable up to the serial port, and connecting it to a PC with a serial port and using a client like PuTTY to access the console over the serial connection.

I can do that. What would the command be? I haven't found any documentation to do this. Do you have a lik to such documentation?
              Thanks

On the console, you get a menu. It's one of the menu options. Just look at the list, press the number, and follow the prompts. No commands to type. :)
