            These lines

            pci9: <network, ethernet="">at device 0.0 (no driver attached)
            pci9: <network, ethernet="">at device 0.1 (no driver attached)
            pcib8: <pci-pci bridge="">at device 4.0 on pci8
            pci10: <pci bus="">on pcib8
            pci10: <network, ethernet="">at device 0.0 (no driver attached)
            pci10: <network, ethernet="">at device 0.1 (no driver attached)</network,></network,></pci></pci-pci></network,></network,>

in the dmesg output suggest there is no driver in the system that recognises the NICs on the 4 port card.

I suggest you try a recent snapshot build of pfSense 2.0 BETA  which includes much more up to date device drivers. pfSense 2.0 BETA is not yet considered "production ready" but there seem to be a number of people using it seriously.

You can also look into following this method: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,26592.msg140323.html#msg140323

                I'd bet 10 to 1 the pciconf -l shows the card's chip ID as 0x10e88086 :s
