      Hello everyone.

I am currently testing 2.0 BETA4, coming from Astaro. Really like this new work!

There seems to be one or two new builds that come up daily and I am wondering how often everyone updates?

Kind of looking for some guidelines here.

      Thanks!

      Ray

      Best regards,

      Ray

I update everytime I see it say I'm not on latest and offer to update.  I have a tabs (dashboard, RRD and traffic) open so I can glance at it every few hours.

You can sometimes get away with running a given snapshot for days, weeks, months, etc. But it's a good idea to at least update every couple weeks.

You should always update when you find a problem. Figure out how to reproduce it, update, and then see if the problem is still there. If it's still there after the update, report it here and/or in redmine. Don't report a problem until after you've updated, to be sure that it wasn't fixed between your version and the most current one.

You want to update every now and then to also be sure that the features you use didn't get broken by other changes along the way.

Thanks you all for the suggestions!

I will plan to stay current and will report back any problems that I find.

In the past, I used PFSense for quite some time but then decided to give Astaro a try. Saw the new 2.0 BETA and thought it would be a good time to circle back and see what changes and improvements have been made.

I must say, this software is very straight forward to work with and is very quick! I am quite impressed.

Great work! I look forward to further involvement with this forum!

            Thanks, Ray
