How many VLAN's is too many?
-
The largest I've done so far is 47 VLAN's, with 47 DHCP servers, 47 sets of firewall rules, etc…
It seems to be working just fine so far, (its been in production for 8 days now) and no reported problems, but the thing takes about 10-15 min to fully boot. It seems to take forever on the "loading filter rules" section. Its running on a single core Atom D410 with a gig of ram. Resource utilization seems to be relatively low, and like I said, no problems to speak of, just wondering if there's a magic number of VLAN's one should avoid due to software limitations?

The processing of VLANs should be much, much faster on 2.0
We've seen configs with hundreds of VLANs that work just fine once they are booted on 1.2.x

Can't wait till 2.0 is out of beta :) So the long boot time is normal and nothing to worry about? Running 1.2.3 release btw.

Yes in 1.2.3 the boot time it takes is normal.
In 2.0 that is much, much improved.
