      While testing our failover setup (with version 1.2.3), I noticed the following in one of the system logs:

      Jul 7 08:31:58 kernel: ER -> BACKUP (more frequent advertisement received)
      Jul 7 08:31:58 	kernel: T
      Jul 7 08:31:58 	kernel: carp0: MASTER -> BACKUP (more frequent advertisement rececarip1:v eMAd)S

      It looks like 2 lines get mixed up somehow. I don't recall what I was doing exactly at that moment, and I don't think this will be easy to reproduce, but I thought I'd let you guys know this…

        Looks like something corrupted the log file. It wouldn't really be a bug in the system log, though.

        I've seen messages interleaved on the console sort of like that, on multi-core/multi-CPU systems, but usually the logs are OK.

        I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens repeatedly, and if so, I'd check out all the hardware to make sure you don't have something flaky in that department.
