Install pFsense with SSH to harddrive while it is under live-cd remotely

Hi, I got a kinda problem at the moment i didnt relize before a couple of days after that i didnt install pfsense Iam just running it from the live cd and have done all kind of configurations and beside it is on esxi (vmware) so if i lose my connection with my firewall i wont get in touch with the server on any of my virtual machines and the management.
So my question is, will i still have my connection if i proceed with "99) Install pfSense to a hard drive/memory drive, etc." and have my settings left or will everything just be from the factory reset and i need to restore my settings with a backup on the spot.
Iam kinda far away from my server becouse it is at an Co-Location.Best Regards Ufoeke

First of all, backup your configuration you made so you don't lose it.
I've never tried doing the install over SSH, so I'm not really sure what would happen. I think the install might migrate the configuration, but I'm not sure of it. I'm in the process of testing this right now, since I'm curious.

Well, my test install failed, so I'm not really sure whether it would work or not. Even if it does work, I did find one potential issue, though. If you have the CD-ROM set as the first boot device, it will boot from the CD again when it reboots, so you would lose access to the system anyway if it is configured that way in the system BIOS.

The CD thingie is not a problem though, because i can chose to not boot with the img next boot in the vmware management.
But if the firewall fails i cant get access with vSpehere (VMware management) -
I can from today confirm that it works to install it from a remote location without that the pfsense will not lose the config
