Pfsense Installs Boot Problem
-
Hi Guys,
My situation is like this.
I have a 1Gb Ram with Intel 865Perl Mainboard with 1 inbuilt Lan Card and 2 X 1000MBps Lan Card. I tried to install PFsense into the Hard Disk which is 160GB hard disk with my SATA cable. It would hang the boot up process at /. Saw in the forum, to disable the Packet mode during install but I will get it hang at the loading of PFsense.
I tried to install the PFsense with GAG but I am not sure how to do it. Is there a way to do it with GAG? I cannot disable ACPI as it's a Intel MB and all the settings is correct.I tried to install the PFSense with a USB cable to SATA and it install correctly and works like a charm. I tried to change it back to SATA cable direct from my MB and it would not load properly. Asking me about mounting. Could anybody help me with changing of the mounting after I install everything correctly using USB to SATA and when I change the cable back to SATA?
SATA is AD6.Thanks a lot.

I presume you have the problem described in http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,25444.0.html If so, follow those instructions. When you installed on USB the drive would have been called something like da0 but now that its connected to a SATA controller its called ad6. The startup just needs to be tweaked to look for the root filesystem in the correct place.
