      Hi all,
When having a CARP cluster it would be nice to have a small feature that would send an email to the system administrator when the slave node takes over the master one. Is it possible, I mean is there a system event when CARP interfaces become master or would it have to be run from a crontab or something similar ?
It could be configured in the CARP settings by adding some fields (message subject, message, emailTo, emailFrom, smtp server, credentials for the smtp server). Does the version of php runing on pfSense has the ability of using mail features ?

      Eric.

Agree'd.  I am looking at mailing infrastructure scripts so that we can add email support to pfS.  Once this is completed we can e-mail all sorts of stuff, including this.
