Looks like you're having problems with that hard drive. Try a different HD and see if that fixes your issue.

just brought a BRAND NEW SATA HD
getting the same errors as above, but not reoccurring only 1 line of that .
also recieving the following error:
TIMEOUT - WRITE_MUL retrying (1 retry left) ..
I have two suspicions
-
its the stupid usb cd rom drive i'm using ?
-
the motherboard ide/sata controller is faulty
I have tried numerous things. turning off certain things in the bios like acpi and Intel HT.
I have tried installing on a usb to see if its just isolated to hd or flash. still same problem of not fully installing.
I have also tried installing other distro's on the HD linux untangle and I get error with not fully installing.
I have disabled dma from loader prompt, i have booted in safe mode. still no luck
I have changed the bios hd boot to LBA mode.
The thing is guys, i have installed windows 7 on another system and moved the HD to the motherboard and it boots the OS fine.
I have also done HD surface test and I Don't receive any errors.
Can someone shed some light.

I have ditched the usb cd rom and have used a usb to install any os to see if its the ata/sata controller.
I have installed windows 7 successfully.
so im confused now as to what the problem is. Im guess its the usb cd rom, but i dont have any internal optical drives to test and as far as im aware pfsense doesnt support usb install ?
