      Hi,

      Can some tell me if it is possible to forward on url addreess.
      The scenario is;
      I have 3 domain names and need to be forwarded to 3 different servers based on the url name.

      url.com
      url1.com.au
      url2.net

      Server 1: 192.168.10.2 for url.com  –> port 80
      Server 2: 192.168.11.2 for url1.com.au --> port 80
      Server 3: 192.168.12.2 for url2.net --> port 80

      Is ther a way that this can be done.
      See image for network layout.

        Using pfSense as DNS Forwarder. Add your names to the list…

          Hi,

          Forgot to mention that I only have one public ip address.
          Also not sure if the DNS forwarder will work, as I will also need to forward other ports as well like the email series of ports (snmtp, pop, imap..), netbios, remote connections, https,  and some others etc…
          Can that be done vi the DNS forwarder?

          thanks
          George

            What you're trying to do can only be done with HTTP and the use of a load balancer or similar - you'll find quite a few threads on the matter.

            For anything else you'll need multiple public IP addresses.

              I'm sorry!

              I thought you were talking obout internal resolution.

              If you want to resolve at the Internet side DNS Forwarder can't help you, of course.

              If you only have one public address I think you need a reverse proxy in your pfSense box.

              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse_proxy

                HI,

                Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions.

                From that it looks like I will need a reverse proxy and a internal DNS forwarder for the MX records.

                As for the other ports I will manage them via a "jump" box.

                If any one has any other options or comments they are welcomed.

                Thanks
                George
