WAN does not renew DHCP?

First the basics:
Version 1.2.3-RELEASE
built on Mon Dec 7 20:21:30 EST 2009
Platform nanobsdHardware: Soekris 5501
It seems like my WAN DHCP does not renew. The connection dies at random interval (it seems like 1 week between failures now).
The fix is easy, just release and renew the WAN interface and it is running again.
If i let it stay for a couple of hours the problem solves it selv (so it seems at the moment- i have only seen it "fix itself" one time and that was this night).
The connection died around 0435 and was running again 0541 (there is a small delay until the survalience system detecs it is running)The box has been running for about a year without any hickups and now this is bugging me. Any ideas?
It is a TDC ADSL - not the HomeTrio, but a real DSL with the Speedstream and a Direct WAN IP (bonus info for the Danish readers ;-))Jul 21 07:40:00 check_reload_status: check_reload_status is starting

IIRC others have solve similar problems with a cronjob "/sbin/dhclient vr1"
