Are you asking about the specifics, or the theoretical maximum? Your choice of hardware and the nature of your traffic will be the things that define what your specific situation can handle.

i am asking about the specifics or you can say that in general, what are those values? I agree that it depends most on the hardware but in general what should i expect..?
Thanks & Regards,

Linked off the mail pfSense page you'll find a hardware sizing page. That provides rough requirements for various levels of bandwidth. A search of the Hardware sub-forum will also get you a lot more.

NM04,
There are no limits. The only limit is your hardware. You can set the states as high as you want so you can handle millions of concurrent connections, if you have enough RAM. You can push hundreds of megabits worth of traffic if you have a fast CPU and good network cards.
There is no general or specific answer, it really does depend on what you are doing with it.
It's not like a Cisco product where they limit it (often in licensing) to a specific number of users or connections.

ok i get it ….!!
thanks to you both Jimp and cry...!!
