      My pfsense router works on a motherboard with a atom 510D processor on it.
      Can i change that for a motherboard with a atom 330 processor without any problem?  Or should i expect some?

        You might get interface mismatch otherwise should just work.

          That was what i've tought.  My 2 WAN's are connected to my 4-in-1 LAN PCI kaart Adaptec ANA-62044.  Only my LAN is connected to the motherboard.  That's a RealTek 8168/8111 B/C/CP/D/DP/E PCIe Gigabit Ethernet.

          The LAN of the motherboard i want to replace is a

          [root@s01 /]# dmesg |grep eth0
          eth0: RealTek RTL8139 at 0xffffc20000122c00, 00:22:68:61:02:c9, IRQ 185
          eth0:  Identified 8139 chip type 'RTL-8100B/8139D'
          eth0: link up, 100Mbps, full-duplex, lpa 0x41E1
          eth0: no IPv6 routers present

              To elaborate a little on:
              @ermal:

              You might get interface mismatch otherwise should just work.

              If you keep everything else the same and swap the motherboard the next boot MIGHT report an interface mismatch because the onboard NIC (if any) might not be the same as the onboard NIC on your existing motherboard. This is relatively easy to correct at boot time on the console.

              If you are looking for someone with experience to report then you will have to give more details (at least brand and model) on the motherboard you are planning to swap in.

              The FreeBSD documentation (man pages and supported hardware list) doesn't appear to list that particular model but I've seen a wide variety of Realtek chips listed in the pfSense forums as working.
