I'm having the same problem. I put a check in "enable rip", selected LAN for the interface and selected "RIP Version 2" and do not have a RIPv2 password entered. When I click save, the web interface hangs while firefox is "waiting for a reply".

        I am running "2.0-BETA4 (amd64) built on Tue Dec 21 11:36:06 EST 2010"

I checked /var/log/system.log and /var/log/lighthttpd.error.log and don't see any errors.

        Anyone have any ideas?

The latest update fixed the issue. At the time of this writing the update was not available as a firmware update so I updated my install via git.

I don't know if this is the official way of doing it but this worked for me:

            1. choose option 12 from the pfsense console
            2. type "playback gitsync"
            3. type master at the ">" prompt
            4. When it asks if you want to add a custom RCS branch just hit return

Yeah that will do it most of time unless there is a binary that needs update.
Then you need a full-update through snapshots.
