there aren't that many critical issues remaining (we won't ever have 0 issues, never have, never will, no software does), assuming the big patch-related ones recently are all sorted as they should now be, we hope to hit RC1 this year. But as always, no promises, it'll be released when it's ready.

Dont count on 1st half of 2011 either.

Yea, there are quite a lot of tickets open and last I remember reading was, If you want 2.0 released sooner, help to resolve some open tickets and provide feedback if the fixes work or not.
Hope is alive and well, but I won't be placing any bets on RC1 for this year.

To answer the inevitable “when will it be released?” – as always, “when it’s ready”. The release will happen sometime in 2010, but as for a more specific timeline, we can’t provide one at this time.

I'm sure it would help the devs more if instead of posting in this thread you updated any relevant tickets with your feedback (as mentioned in one of the posts at the top of this forum).

Unbound is a package not currently part of the base pfSense system. Please refer to your other thread on Unbound for logging of problems.

Mr. Omero, you sound like you're having a panic attack…I'm sure 2.0 RC1 will not be released in any condition that will reflect poorly on the team. And even if the team leader decides on a release date, that would have to be in agreement with the other members who feel confident in such a date.

Guys… for those had been using the 2.0-BETA (I know it is not ready for production) what do you say, should I load up this new version replacing my 1.2.3? or should I wait (until it's ready)

Wait…..:) I have tried a couple of times, but I dont think its ready for production yet. Still a long way to go.
Some basic things still making noises, so for a critical environement it is still a no-go.
