Installing latest 2.0 beta build from USB on ASUS 2G surf (rev 700 MB)

So, I tried writing the image using UNETBOOTIN and another liveUSB creation tool and both failed. Which, in retrospect, was a stupid thing to do since the install image is, I believe, a raw sector copy of a pre-built image. So, I tried imagewriter for Windows and that worked. Booted up the 1 GB USB key on the ASUS, went to the install screen, chose the custom install method and after some steps, the process failed and corrupted the USB key. Grr… had to redo the USB key and reinstall. This time, I chose the easy method. Worked great! Installed the image on the internal 2GB SSD drive. I am able to access the Webconfigurator through a cross over cable to the ethernet port!
I am using the internal wifi adapter, and the infamous Alfa AWUS036H external 1000mW UFB wifi adapter as the secondary network interface. My goal is to use this system as a portable bridge/router that uses the Alfa adapter to connect to open WIFI AP's, and the internal wifi adapter as a broadcast AP. I'm currently trying to configure the system to use the Alfa adapter. Hope it all works.
By the way, is there an wireless AP tool for pfsense/BSD that is similar to Kismet. I'm not very knowledgeable about BSD. Much thanks!

If the wireless device is supported, you can assign it under Interfaces > (assign). From there, again if it's supported, you will see options to setup the wireless interface either as an AP or a client.
It should show you under Interfaces > (assign) in the drop-down fields what network devices you have. Without knowing which driver your wireless card uses, it's hard to say if it can work as an AP or just a client.

Hey Jim,
Got everything to work with 2.0 beta! Now I'm looking to install Kismet or something similar. It would be nice to have that as part of the 2.0 build.
