I'm considering the Netgate Hamakua 1U Pfsense appliance to replace an aging sonicwall at a client location.  I would like to run the squid module for content filtering but I thought it might be wise to ping the list first and make sure this device would perform well enough as a content filter.  Does anyone have any performance stats concerning squid and the hardware requirements.  Or if anyone is using this device with squid enabled I like to hear about it.

      thanks!

Looks like this device ships with a CF instead of HD?  If that is the case, you'll want to either disable disk caching in Squid (choose null from the GUI) or install something that won't 'burn out' like CF with the constant read/writes from Squid.
