      Hi folks

i tried to install the pfSense on a net45xx embedded platform on a 4GB cf-card. I wrote the image with gzcat on a mac and phydiskwrite on windows to the cf both times with the same result: the box tries to boot and then shows me a "read error" on the console. has anyone an idea how to fix this ?

      best regards
      Thomas

Even if you can get it booting, you would be running an unsupported configuration. The 45xx boxes only had 64mb and current minimum is 128mb. See:

If it was me, I'd run m0n0 on that hardware.

An issue I ran into at one point was the CF card was a tad smaller than the image I was writing to the card.  Try writing the 2GB image to the 4GB card and see if it boots.

          Cheers!
