I had a 1.2.3 system on an IBM running great and the mother board died.
If I pull the drive and the dual Gb nic card and toss it into another PC will it boot?

i'm no expert with FreeBSD but I think it will work. You will probably have to assign the interfaces under the console.

If only the motherboard died then yes, it should work.

            Thanks for the replies.
Ya it was sitting there clicking , the fans would wiggle every 2 seconds, so I swapped the PSU and when I plugged it in a loud snap followed by smoke from the board, The drive spinned up and the light came on but that was it.

Assuming the contents of the HDD were not corrupt, then yeah that should work. The other limiting factor may be onboard NIC differences between the two systems. But as long as the assigned interfaces match up, it should work. And if they don't, it's just a matter of re-assigning the interfaces in the way you expect.
