      Hello,
in the last 1-2 weeks, my secondary pfSense machine freezes every 1-2 days. I was testing it as single machine (no carp) for weeks and it didn't, so I would exclude some hardware problem…

Unfortunately when this happens the machine is completely frozen, so I can't do nothing else than take a picture of the screen...

Do you have any idea about that?

      Thanks,
      Michele

        What date is your install?
It is recommended to upgrade to latest snapshot as it has a lot of fixes.

Hello, the date of install was the latest available yesterday… I just upgraded to the latest now (Thu Mar 24 22:33:52 EDT 2011), but even if I always update the firmware every day, the problem persists until now... let's see if the "Thu Mar 24 22:33:52 EDT 2011" solves the problem...

          Thanks,
          Michele

On a closer look that seems like a hardware issue rather than software.
Can you check your hw first?

ok… I updated the motherboard's bios and I disabled ACPI... don't know what to do exactly to test this hardware, the only thing I could think is some issue on the onboard ethernet adapter, which is marked VR0 (VIA), while the other interfaces are 3Com (XLn)...

After this bios update I will let you know if it hangs again...

              Thanks a lot!
              Michele
