    Dear,

    I tested the actual live-CD install on my VIA C3 (533MHz) Mini-ITX, 512MB and it works fine. But I have a CF-card (Transcend 1GB) installed and want to use the embedded one.

    1.2.3-nanobsd won't start on the VIA; Bootloader stops on VGA, maybe it is visible on serial console. Well, I try the "hacom"-Image with VGA support. I don't know if the packages are equal. WebGUI ist very, very slow. Maybe there are some older drivers missing(?)…e.g. VIA Rhine(?)  ???

    I think the best way is the install from live-cd, but how to modify standard settings to work fine for CF-Cards?  I'm not so experienced with FreeBSD  :(

    thx
    antonio

      NanoBSD (and embedded) use the serial console, not VGA output. I'd suggest you try that, with a serial console cable, before you try modifying images.

        Hi,

        but what about the setting="pfsense" or "embedded"? I read a older thread with this solution (for VIA C3) in live cd install, but I don't know where to find it.

        Because the hacom-1.2.3-embedded-Image has VGA support, but perhaps no "older" drivers installed. WebGUI is extremely slow; maybe its the same behaviour in pfsense(embedded). So I think it's no worth to test the pfsense-nanobsd, too.

        btw I have no serial cable ready …  :(

          @Cry:

          If I use the hacom pfsense 1.2.3 nanobsd and then upgrade to the new pfsense 2.0 though the update feature do I need to access the console by serial cable first to assign the NIC again or I just use GUI. Current I don't have a serial cable, do you think will this work?
