Network Configuration
-
Good Morning Everyone
I have been testing 1.2.3 release for a while now and it's a great product, however i have some basic questions on configuration. Here is my configuration
DSLmodem–------- WAN "em0"-----PFSENSE BOX----LAN "dc0"-------Dell Basic Network Switch----IP Phone-----PC
Now as far as i know my ip phone is using port 5060 based on a wire shark report, however i want to separate the iphones and the other lan devices on two different lans. For example all pc's will be on 192.168.1.X and all IP phones will be on 192.168.2.x I can not seem to find a way to do this. This is my first problem
Next now that i have two separate networks for my phones and devices I want to setup either traffic shaping to give my voice guaranteed bandwidth or some type of QOS. Is there any way to have it setup were if a packet comes across from the iphones's network it gets priority over the data side. I believe this is called coloring. I'm just not sure what to do here. The only other solution i have is to just get two DSL's and put my phones on one and my devices on another, however based on what I have read I shouldn't have to do that.
Can someone point me in the right direction
Thanks

For the first you need one of 2 things.
- A switch (and network interface) that supports VLANS
- Two LAN interfaces
For the QoS please look at the traffic shaping forum (and read the documentation).
