      I've deployed a couple of boxes using XenServer 5.6 FP1, each consisting of two VM's: a dual WAN pfSense setup, and an Untangle 8.1.1 web filtering appliance (running in bridged mode); each box has three physical network interfaces (two of them connected to broadband modems - one cable, one ADSL -, and the third one connecting the box to a gigabit switch) and a virtual one (connecting both VM's). In both cases there is, on the interface statistics panel, a large number of ethernet collisions, which I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out the reason for.

      Has anyone tried this, or a similar setup, with comparable results? If so, do you see any perceived drop in performance, because of those collisions?

      Thanks

      Marcello
      P.S.: "Virtua" is a 12Mbps cable link, and "Speedy" a 2Mbps ADSL (with PPPoE) - both are common broadband options in São Paulo (Brazil).

        With the virtual nic I had the same problem.
        Adding model E1000 to the vif did it:

        vif        = [ 'mac=02:09:E8:01:25:E3,bridge=br_vlan_zero,type=ioemu,model=e1000' ]

            Marcello,

            I can not install a pfSense VM using XenServer 5.6.

            The installation stops with an error:

            Fatal trap 9: general protection fault while in kernel mode
            .
            .
              .
            Stopped at pmap_invalidade_cache_range+0x40: clflushl 0(%ebx)

            Is it a hardware problem?

            TIA

            JC
