how to delete this files ? where are they located on disk ? what is the extention of this files ? i ask because i dont want to delete something by error.
-
First off, what exact version number of pfSense are you running (it can't be pfSense 2.0 final since it hasn't been released yet) and what packages do you have installed?
There isn't a single answer as to what you can delete - it depends on what packages you have installed and what you're doing with pfSense.
-
And you haven't established that the problem really is "too many files". (As suggested earlier, the problem might be an i/o error reading from the hard drive.) In addition to the information requested in the previous reply, please provide the output of the pfSense shell command # df -i.

when it is booting from cd it said Welcome to pfsense 1.2.3-release (version)
I have no install packages to it. I just install the software as default. (i dont add any package aditionals)Iย am on the way to my house now to give you the detaild about df -i.
-
If you have installed no packages, then most likely you are seeing signs that your hard drive is failing.
-
This is the df -i results: (see attached picture)
Also when i turn on the monitor i see some error that i will attach now after this post.
-
This is the second picture about the errors.
-
Sorry to say, but your hard drive is definitely failing.
-
Here is another strange thing when starting up the system.
Thats why i think the drive is bad.
-
Definitely signs of failing hard drive.
-
I agree with jimp - those errors, in particular the CRC ones, are a strong indicator that your hard disk has already failed. It is simply a matter of time before it fails completely - you need to replace it immediately.

thanks! :)
